I often laugh at the outcome of some of my photos because of the craziness that goes on behind the scenes. Photo sessions are always eventful and each session has a story. I love being able to capture the story, the intimate moments of a family's life.
For instance: three boys walking hand in hand through the meadow. Some moments appreciate with time, this moment is forever captured in a photo - I love giving that to someone and helping them remember this may have been a CrAzY time, but we were there living the moment and capturing it on film. (well a memory card anyway)
So cheesy I know!

I think 1 year old birthdays are so much fun. I know the little ones don't really get it and would rather play with the boxes and wrappings rather than the gifts, but there is an excitement upon finishing that one year. So much has happened: their first step, first tooth, first word, first curl and all that fun stuff. It's been a busy year at our house and we are so lucky and so blessed. Who can enter: Contestants must reside in Tooele County, and be 7 years of age or younger.

How to enter: Send a photo of your child Age: 0-7 to Sundloff Photography by Mon. June 7, 2010 at midnight MST.

Photo guidelines: Photos must be snapshots of your child and not professional images, even if you own the copyright release.

Super Busy (Post two of my super series)

"SUPER" is my new favorite word and this kid was SUPER busy! I wish I had their energy when I am chasing them all over the place. Sometimes it is hard to keep up, but I do my best. This sneak peek is for his mom, I think she was a little worried when we couldn't get him to hold still, but we got some. Oh and I wanted to let everyone know that a lot of exciting things are happening around here. I am going to be offering mini-sessions one Sat. in April, I will be starting Free Fridays (where I will giveaway FREE stuff, and my NEW studio is almost finished! I can't wait for all three things, the studio is for sure my favorite announcement. I shot a newborn that I will be sharing later this week in it and it was WAY too much fun. Somebody pinch me!

My Hero!

I took this picture of my little super hero on Wed. I've had this idea for a while and wanted to give it a try. Well, I pulled out the old Spiderman costume and that was the end of that. He won't take the dang thing off. He has such a great imagination sometimes I think he believes he literally transforms into these characters. I love raising my boys, they are so much fun.

It is one of my favorite stages because they can sit up and look around (So they aren't completely frustrated), but they can't quite get into everything and everywhere yet. Can you name the movie that I stole the above title from? It is slightly altered.
So, this morning I was getting the boys ready for school and handed my eldest a pair of pants. He came out of the bedroom with floods on. I was like, "You've got to be kidding me did you grow 2 inches over night. I mean honestly I just cleaned out the closet and those pants fit you at Christmas." So crazy how fast they grow. My Colton - boy will be seven next week and it seems like yesterday I was pregnant and preparing for his arrival - wow I really want the clock to stop for just a minute. It seems like life is so busy it is hard to take a deep breath and enjoy it. Here is my cute, handsome, adorable, spunky, crazy son posing for his b-day pics. He is such a HAM.
Oh ya, the movie is Princess Bride. "No more rhyming, I mean it, anybody want a peanut?" My sistas would totally get it, did you?

These were taken just a few days after a snow storm, we were using hot chocolate as our bribe. The kids were cold, but did great. My fave from this session is the one where they are all comforting the little guy because he was cold -- How Sweet! I love when I can capture those natural moments. I hopee everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving.

Sometimes kids say the funniest things.
My 4yo came in and said, "Mom, I've got some bad news."
Honestly where do they come up with these? Holding back a snicker I asked what was the bad news?
He replied, "I am scared to go in the garage."
Sidenote: He's in the too scared to go anywhere by himself stage. I really LOVE Halloween, it is my second favorite holiday, but I hate the next two months after because my kids are still scared.
I asked him why he was scared.
And he replied there are monsters in the garage.
The good news he was able to go in the garage, but mom had to "stand right here mom and watch me the whole time." Too Funny - I wish I could freeze these moments!
The second set of good news is he has a brother that sympathizes with him.

I took this little guy's newborn pics a year ago, I can't believe he is already coming back for his 1 year old shots. WOW time is flying by! I LOVE the fall colors right now, and the weather has been so nice. We better enjoy it because winter is coming whether we like it or not. I have to tell you for this shoot we went to and old barn and there were two friendly (a little too friendly) the kept following us and wouldn't leave us alone.

This little sweetheart arrived a little earlier than expected weighing only three pounds. That is FIVE pounds littler than my smallest. It took us a couple tries to get the block letter name shot to work, but it turned out really good! I'm so glad we put forth the extra effort. We had to sit and wait for the sun to peek out from behind a cloud. It was well worth the wait. I love moments like this and I love capturing these moments even more.

Newborn/Maternity Session - $375
Includes a maternity session at around 34 weeks and a newborn session once your baby is born up to two weeks old. Also includes one baby announcement design. You will receive the negatives CD (about 15-20 images) from each session. Session fee is due at time of maternity sitting.

Newborn Session - $250
Session can be done on location or in the comfort of your own home. The best time for a newborn session is between 6- 14 days old. Includes session fee and copyright release of 20-25 images, with minor editing (skin softening etc...). It also includes the images converted to black and white.

Full resolution 5x7 file included on your CD. Samples available.

This one was total spur of the moment. They walked out in the water together and I snapped the pic - I totally love it though.

Back from the BEACH!

Driving three BOYS ages 6, 3&4, and 3 months old all the way to the beach was a TON of work and also a TON of fun. We got had a birthday party, we built sandcastles, walked on boardwalk, got doughnuts, doughnuts and more doughnuts, went to Disneyland (seeing this place through the boys' perspective is a whole different experience than through a girl's), became a jedi kid, one kid got sick passed it along to the rest of us, played games, watched movies, and had way too much fun! I didn't take as many pics as I would've liked as I was pulled in three different directions, but here is one of the three stinkers at the beach! These are the DAYS!!! I love my BOYS!

I also didn't get around to Jace's blessing pics and wanted to post a few. I managed to make it through the entire blessing day without getting one spot on his outfit and then we take pictures and have a major blowout- so frustrating. Sometimes I wonder how everything goes straight up the back and the diaper is almost poop free. I don't get it. But "EEWWWY" he is adorable!

Hidden Treasures

As a photographer I am always looking for places to take pictures. I am continually amazed at all of the wonderful hidden treasures Utah has to offer. This session was taken at a private home. When we entered the gates I thought we left the state, I couldn't believe we were still in the Desert of Utah. There were ponds, tons of trees and everything was so green. Needless to say, this place was really neat - I love finding places like this. Enjoy.

For Austin's four year old birthday he got to go to Disneyland - the lucky little stinker. The funny thing is he didn't love it, in fact I was feeling like a horrible mom while we were there because he was afraid of every ride - even Finding Nemo (I mean COME ON) But he continues to ask everyday do we get to go to Disneyland today? - so I guess it wasn't too traumatic for him.

Clegg Reunion

Lagoon Days

So,I took all three boys to Lagoon yesterday, what was I thinking? We had a ton of fun but it was also A TON of work. Right after we walked through the gate I took the older boys aside and I gave them the run down on getting lost, what to do etc... Apparently it all went out the window for my oldest. He came up missing about 4:30 and he just continued to wander around. About a half hour many tears and getting security involved later my sister found him. And guess what he said, "Mom, how come you guys left me?" He actually thought I really left him. I hate all those emotions and thoughts that run through your brain when something like that happens, it is exhausting. Other than that everything else actually went really smooth. Rattlesnake Rapids is the BOMB! Are people still saying that? I'm so out of it.

Here's a couple more of my little munchkins, I must say these are the cutest kids I've ever photographed. I used to live just down the street from this little orchard and drove by it everyday. It is abandoned now and is a great place for pics. If I had a ton of money I would buy a house on the beach and a some kind of orchard. They say orchard are a lot of work though. But if I had all the money in the world I can hire help right? For now I will enjoy the photos from this orchard.

This little doll came by just before I had Baby Jace. Sorry it has taken me so long to post them. I absolutely love the pink fairy dress!

New Baby ... New Vocabulary!

It's a Beautiful Baby Boy! Jace Augustus Sundloff
He is so perfect and HEALTHY! I am only posting a couple of pics for now, although I have literally hundreds. He was born at 8:13 am on April 18 weighing 8 lbs 6 ounces and 20.5 inches.

I can't believe he is already nine days old and I am just posting about him. In fact today is his actual due date. I am glad I am to this point though and not just tarted the whole journey. Truly it has been a rough week and that is an understatement. If nothing else my vocabulary has been broadened by the whole experience.
Do you know what these words mean?
Uterine Artery
Hermatocrit
Hematoma
Angiogram
Percocet
I unwillingly found out what each of them mean throughout the day on Sat.
To make a long story short, the doctors clipped a uterine artery while performing Jace's C-section, and a hematoma (internal bleeding) began, they thought they had it stopped and stitched up so they closed the C-section. So after enjoying my new baby for a couple hours and enduring incredible stomach pain, incredibly horrific stomach pain, I kept getting worse and worse: temp. dropping, vitals declining, and all that fun stuff. At 6pm they took my hermatocrit (is the proportion of blood volume that is occupied by red blood cells) which had gone down 5 points since surgery to 24. So they took me in for an Angiogram (test to see if there is internal bleeding). During this procedure they found the point of blood leaking and sealed it up. How fun right?
So after 5 units of blood, countless needle pokes and prods, tons tests ran, I was finally discharged on Tues., but still in tons of pain. Yes Percocet (Pain killer -I love You!) I really didn't need the pain killer until I came home and had to take care of three little boys instead of just one. Special Thanks and shout out to my mother-in-law for taking such good care of the boys during the whole ordeal. And also a special thank you to everyone for all your prayers, thoughts, calls, and emails. I am trying to get back to everyone.
I really am doing so much better, it is crazy because I didn't realize how awful I felt until slowly each day I am feeling better and better. And during the whole experience Jace has been an ANGEL, his only issue was a semi-elevated billi-rubin (jaundice) which going down now.
You'd think after having two C-sections I would've learned some of this vocabulary, three times a charm.
Big Brothers are the best. This is what makes it all worth it! I love my BOYS!!!

It is also my anniversary today! It has been 8 wonderful years since we took the plunge! I love you sweetie, Happy Anniversary! Like he'll ever log onto read this, but just in case!

Amazing- that is the only way to describe this shoot. For this senior session, Miss S. was up for anything and we had so much fun. Who knew downtown could be so AMAZING and colorful? I loved this session it may have been my favorite session ever! Isn't this senior Beautiful.

Skull Fracture - Anniversary

It was ONE year ago today, that our little guy had his accident. He was riding in the miniature jeep with his five year old brother. And when his brother got out, he thought he could take over the wheel, but that didn't work out too well. He wound up in the bottom of a deep rock window well. He got a skull fracture and spent the night in the hospital, but luckily there was no permanent damage. Unless you count him being a complete clutz as a side effect. Not really, he was a clutz before the head trauma.
We might have to put him in a bubble every March 26. He attempted to hurt his head again today by falling off the bed and then about an hour later falling down the stairs. Nothing a little Tylenol and sprite didn't fix. I can't believe it has been a year. As a commemoration we went down in the window well and snapped a few shots, here's one:

This was him last year almost a weak after the accident. He's got cookie dough and that's all that matters to him.

The BABY is coming fast now, Four weeks will be here before you know it. We put the crib up this weekend and it is starting to feel real. Am I ready for this? Ready or not HE/SHE will be coming. I am SO SO Glad that we are waiting to find out what the gender is, I can't wait for the moment when the Doctor say, it's a ________! OOH I am way excited for that.
Since I already have a brunette and a blond, it will also be fun to see what color of hair the LITTLE STINKER has. Although my other two both came out with dark hair.
Putting my photographer hat back on - Space is filling up fast, if you need a session before the baby comes please give me a call. I have a couple more spots that I could squeeze you in.

Some couples are very easy to photograph. This couple was very much in love and comfortable in front of the camera. It made it difficult to edit the photos because there were a lot of good shots. I'm not complaining - I like when that happens!

This little guy was wide awake to begin, but once he fell asleep he was incredible - a very sound sleeper. What a sweetie! I love how he is holding his toes in the last photo.
